Have you checked the fuse? The fact you have nothing shows there to be a power supply problem or the motor itself has packed up.

ive checked the fuse and the fuse was blown so i replaced the fuse with a new 1 but as soon as i fit the new 1 and turn the ignition on for the fan to come on the fuse blows up could that just be because the resistor is fckt

It could be the motor is jammed, or a dead short, unplug the motor and replace the fuse again, don't be tempted to up the rating of the fuse, this can cause fires and destroy your car!
It could have lost the earth to the motor, ie broken wire, unplug motor and check output at the connector that goes on the motor.
I've known one over the years where the owner always ran with no pollen filter, eventually enough crap found it's way in the heater to jam the motor.

As said if it's blown again it indicates an electrical problem, motors are not un common for siezing as water can get inside. I would be checking this next.
