Default Rad and Interior Fan Fault?

Hi guys, I have a 2000 1.6 petrol escort estate and the interior fan and the radiator fan have stopped working, I'm guessing they are linked unless its a strange coincidence they have gone together.

I have checked the fuses and all seem fine so wondering if this is a common fault and what I should be looking for?

All help appreciated

I doubt they are both on the same circuit as each have quite a heavy draw.

Normally the blower is protected by a 30A fuse, but not knowing Escorts I coulden't say for sure.

It may just be coincidence both have gone at same time.

For the fans I would be checking the relay and power to it.

For the interior fan check you have power at one side of the fuse with ignition ON.

If you car is equipped with a 'Resistor Pack' for blower control these are well known for going and needing replaceing, does it work on any speed at all?

thanks for the reply Martin,

I'll have to go through it all with multimeter ans see if I can find where the issue is......does seem strange for both of them to go at the same time.

The interior fan doesn't work at all, had issues in the past with the fans not working on certain speeds with my mondeos, to be honest I havn't looked if this has one of those fitted.

Yep that would have been the resistor pack, common problem on most modern Fords, it works on pos 4 and nothing else, let us know how you get on.
