Ford escort van immob problems Hellllllppp
Hi i know you guys prob heard this question a million times but here goes.I recently swapped the engine in my 2001 ford escort 1.8d van..I pulled the old engine out and the local pikey scrap men decided to swipe it before i had the chance to take the pump off.I managed to find a replacement pump from a 99 escort van...but heres the prob
It wont bloody start lol (ive got ignition lights etc)
I know that the immobilizer is on the fuel pump on these things and obviously my key is coded to the old pump which is lying in a scrap yard somewhere.
what i really need to know is how i can bypass the immobilizer to get the thing running
I would really really appreciate your help
thanks in advance Andy

take all the injector pipes off the pump. an u will see i think its 4 small snap head bolts holding a 5 mm plate over the back of the pump. chissel them round so u can take it off. u will then see the stop solenoid. cut the wire so u have plenty left on the solenoid so u can join it. unplug the plug going to the pump an using a multi meter find a wire that becomes live when the igniton is one. one of them defo does. join that wire to the solenoid. an bish bash bosh its bypassed. just wrap the others with tape an wire tie them out of the way as there disused now. u will find the red light at the side of the clock will stay on to tell u its imobilised but it will start cheeRS tony
