Default Dyno disappointments

Hi There,
Just come from the dyno expecting 500 BHP but unfortunately i was a little disapointed, does anyone have any ideas as to why we aren't making any more real power after 4750 rpm??

Cheers Matt

sounds like the car is well up to the job mate!, not the fuel pump or filter that is causing it the lean off is it? what is the duty cycle on the injectors at 5k on full boost? good on ya for mapping it yourself at that power level

yeah it sure is, would benifit from leaning off a touch, but at peak torque it is dangerously lean mate.

you can see where it blips rich and lean (in the first graph) the power mimics it exactly, either going up or down. But as it gets richer and richer past 5k, the power is tailing off quicker than i would expect it to. Def needs a touch more fuel as it comes on boost and at peak torque, but im sure you will have the laptop out later

If this is totally built and mapped by you, why are you asking us?

Looks to me like it runs short of spark lead and runs too rich, but thats a guess at a piece of paper without knowing engine specifics or IAC temps during the run.
Is the turbo big enough for your expectations?

what does spark lead mean?advance?
what i find suprising is the power map looks quite good to 5000 rpm and then it hits
the "wall",i was expecting the bhp to climb with a similar curve-to 7000 rpm???both maps show to me a similar trace-what is the correlation??
thanks for the comments so far...

Surely if your mapping your expensive cossie yourself then you should know what all the different parameters are?? No disrespect but it seems a bit stupid to not know that lot yet risk melting your engine!

Surely it would just save hassle and a potential huge amount of money long term to pay someone to map it, mapping is a huge amount less than a rebuild, Ł280 at Emerald for instance, but peace of mind, and an even better drive back after mapping!!
Had my injectors cleaned there yesterday 1 had a odd spray pattern just like a steam instead of a nice fan, ok last year seems they don't take to a bit of inactivity too well.

That should be power at the hubs so I dont think the powers that bad, You wont get much more with your head and cam spec,
I would take a look at your mapping skills with a afr graph like that.
