Default High Compression?

can somebody please tell me how a high compression cossie engine works. is it basically a case of strengthening everything like the crank, rods etc. are the pistons uprated items? what sort of boost levels are run in one of these engines. what sort of revs does the turbo come on song? please please please can someone shed some light on this for me?

cheers

basically the rally cars use a turbo restrictor that reduces the air flow throught the turbo

so to get the power back up they run a high compression ratio (longer rods / pistons)

as the revs climb the turbo cannot suplly enough air and the boost drops right back.

not good for a road car really unless you have a small turbo

to be honest. I got to drive a newly built high comp engine. Above std comp. found it to be very lively of boast. I was impressed. Still though, ford built the engine at 8.0 comp for a reason and i just think any higher and reliability is compremised.
