basically the rally cars use a turbo restrictor that reduces the air flow throught the turbo

so to get the power back up they run a high compression ratio (longer rods / pistons)

as the revs climb the turbo cannot suplly enough air and the boost drops right back.

not good for a road car really unless you have a small turbo
