ok guys and girls i took the gf's dials out of her capri so we could fit some shiney new stickers over the top of the dials
all went well plugs came out nicely ect disconnected everything to do this
plumbed it all back in (oil pressure speedo ect ect and the loom)
when we started the car up to check all the dials which had seperate connections i.e the oil pressure and speedo they worked but the fuel rev counter tempratue dont work
i figured i hadent plugged somthing in on the loom connection correctly so removed it all again and started again but still nothing
im not great with electrics so is there any way of working out what has happend without a specialist coming out to look at it??
ive heard this is a common problem but they all worked fine befor i unplugged them and i feel really bad cause i broke her car now lol
any help GREATLY appreciated Thanks Tony

Very unlikely to have damaged anything examine the plugs really closely on the offending bits, sometimes pins push in the holders so don't make contact, using a process of elimination find out which connector works the things that don't work, and look closely at any earth wires(brown), can't see it but worth checking fuses also.

Check that the connections havnt crossed! Had the same trouble with mine! Also the little box on the back that has a c/board in try replacing that!
If you go onto capri power there are good guides on there to help you

The little box on the back of the dials, the voltage regulator, are very tempremental and when disturbed sometimes play up.Been through a few on mine over the years for various reasons.Another thing could be one of the fuses in the fuse box.Electrics on old cars are weird!
Also worth checking that you didnt damage the printed circuit board on the back of the dials where the main plug goes back into the dials, can be very fragile.
