Default clutch change questions

hi there, im on half doing a clutch on a mk6 escort van with an ib5 gearbox.

having removed the gearbox and saw the release bearing fall off it was about time it was done!

couple of q's...

1. The release bearing supplied doesnt fit over the input shaft as there is a metal sleeve present. so either i wait till tuesday for a larger internal diameter release bearing or can i cut off the sleeve and use the one supplied???

2. the clutch release fork supports the thrust using a couple of roll pins on the top of the fork one is missing, is it much of a job to get the fork out.. any tips greatly appreciated.

3. The thrust bearing has on its ends a hole to locate it on the release fork. is it normal to have just roll pins on the top fork and not the bottom as im bewildered why theres a hole in the top and bottom of the release bearing - unless they can be fitted either way.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Jon

thats great. notice you dont have a metal ring around the input shaft. so some models have it some dont??

mite just hack it off and fit the release bearing with the smaller diameter to fit on the alloy casing around the input shaft.

what do you reckon guys???
