Default more power what engine

helo ppl
firstly i would like to say i dont no a great deal about mechanics

what i have is a mk3 escort with a cvh 1.6 injection i am after more power but someone mentioned to me to put a zetec bottom end in it but after further talks i have been told this is not best option
and some one said put a rs turbo in

i think rs turbo is probaly best i have around £600 to spend on getting it done but not 100% sure what parts i would need to achive this
would a fiesta efi turbo go in to mk3 and would i need to change hole loom
and would i get everything i need to finish for £600
advice welcome just need little more power and list of what i would need to achive it
thanx

600 quid you are really pushing an rsturbo conversion.
i would say really, about 1500 quid is required, otheriwse you will have problems and the engine no doubt will require a rebuilt and a turbo etc.

a 1.6i escort produces 69bhp. if i were you i would look for a 2L mondeo thats been rear ended or something and buy that for 150 quid. then u get the 2.0 zetec 130bhp, gearbox, ECU, bigger brakes, nice front seats etc etc then weigh whats left in and it will end up costing very little

not alot of money to do much with if your not going to do the work yourself.

Id probly buy a mondeo for scrap money remove the engine and management and fit it to that if it were mine and had only a little to spend on it.

Or save a little while and buy bits over time..

I would go zetec mate, be rude not too.

Gonna be much more reliable than an old rs turbo motor, or a botch of two engines.

I would opt for the RST, as you already have a N/A version of the same engine it should be fairly easy to fit.

This is the same engine as fitted to the Fiesta RST, the difference being it was EFI where as the ERST is MFI, is your current engine EFI or MFI?

This will be the cheapest 'Bangs per buck' wise out the options as the ZVH engine isn't easy and I can't really see you would gain a lot and it will still be a N/A engine, this is usually done to the bigger power RST'S, I don't know how easy the Zetec is.

If going FRST you would be best getting the management and loom all together or if yours is currently MFI you may be able to adapt to run it.
