Default tick over speed

once warm, on my st24??

what should it be on roughly?? once mines been running a few min, it stay at pretty much 600!!! too low??? once i start turning things on in the car (lights, fan etc) the revs start hunting! especially if i turn the steering wheel! its actually cut out a few times because of the hunting it does!

Problem? or simply because the tick over speeds to low?

oh and sometimes when the revs come down (say from anything over 4k) it sticks at around 2k, raises ever so slightly then drops to tick over speed? once again not all the time just every now an then?

Sounds like a sticky idle control valve, could be worth cleaning and refitting, if that doesn't cure it then stick a new one on.

May also be a vaccuum leak, so check you've no splits in any of the rubber pipework anywhere!

Try cleaning ISCV as said, if not something must be telling it to do so.

cheers for replys, ill give it all a clean later, but refering to the vacuum leak, under reasonably hard accelerating, mainly in 2nd and 3rd, i do get an air noise, only way i can describe it is *it sounds similar to my mates 9-3 aero turbo!!* or like a high pitch hissing of air??? never driven one of these cars before or even heard the engine sound so thought it might have been the noise of the cold air intake?? does that sound normal or sound like an air leak?

If this car is like the ST200 it has something called IMRC (Inlet Manifold Runner Control) it basically opens a flap in the throttle over 4000RPM which allows a longer runner, this is only thing I can think, I never have had nor driven one of these so I woulden't know.

These are also problematic.

Try cleaning it first and lubricating with a light oil as they are prone to sticking on many Fords, if not it will be something telling it to do so as the fact it hunts shows it to be working.
