Default Piston Protrusion!

Hi all,
I am just rebuilding my 1990 2wd 205 motor, as things were getting smokey and oil consumption was high.
It was all standard so have gone for 0.5 rebore as bores were a little oval and oil control rings shot. I am in the throws of re-assembling the engine and have noticed that at TDC I have 22 thou (0.51mm) piston protrusion out the top of the block, obviously this is on all 4.
I did'nt seem to notice this amount when I stripped the motor down! Does anybody know if this is right or wrong. I dont want to end up with compression problems. I will be using a cometic head gasket at 1.4mm thick. Thanks, Mike.
