Default Fault codes please. C140

Hiyas,
Just read the fault code on my 1.4tdci 56 fiesta and its come up with a chassis fault of C140.
I've only been able to find a list of the powertrain faults so dont know what this referrs to.

The problem itself is powerloss at higher rpm 4-6times a day for a second.. I think im narrowing it down to an issue something to do with the alternator system.

Thanks for any help

C140 could be code U0140 if it's a powertrain code.
That's a network error: Lost Communication With Body Control Module

With what software or scanner did you read the code?

I read it from the dashboard directly by scrolling through the test mode
It was clear, then the fault happened long enough to bring the ecu light on briefly, and then the code was stored

The alternator light came one once apparently for 30s or so , but i wasnt driving it at the time to see.
