Default cant strip a T3 turbo

cards on table.

i've never touched a turbo until 11:30 today

i bought a manifold that came with a T3 stage 2 (apparently), not bad for £20

as its needing rebuilt, i thought i'd strip it if i break it it doesnt matter as i really only wanted the manifold at this time.

so, no matter how try to do it, there is always something stopping the bolts coming off, here are some pics

i can remove the compressor housing, thats it, the rest of it is like somethingfrom the krypton factor!

anyone offer any advice?

slacken all the housing bolts and twist the centre housing...that way the bolts will move out the way of the feed/return

Hi,

Give it a good dose of wd40 around the exhaust housing, and a few clouts with a soft hammer. Then rotate the exhaust housing in both directions until you can withdraw the bolts.

put a mark-line on the 3 parts so that it all stays in the right position for when you put it all back 1st! now as said slacken all the bolts and leave to soak over night in a tumb of diesil and wack it as said with a soft mallet!it will twist

failing that, a bit of blowtorch action on the housing may help slacken it. but itl go eventually.

I ended up clamping mine solid in vice and battering the housing to get it of the bearing/body. Soaked in combination of wd40 and plusgas (much better but didn't work)

Tried heating up too. Eventually came off after knocking a couple chunks out. Which is fine since it was cracked most of way through in about 7 places!
