Default Fault Code Readers

Hi, My dad is having a problem with his Mondeo 51 plate tdci. He used a fault code reader CAN OBD II but the adapter is different on the end, It only fits my fiesta and my mums but it won't fit my brothers Mondeo or my dads (both 51 plates).

Does anyone know if there is a specific reader he should be using??

Even when the connector would fit, you would not be able to communicate to this diesel.
Not required by law until 2004. So, this one does not support the EOBD/OBD2 protocols.
