Default Mondeo TRIM help!

Okay I do apologise if I've put this in the wrong place but I haven't been on here in a long while (was originally Muttley21 but a little older now!) basically I've not long bought a new car a Mondeo 1.8 TD Ghia spec. Now she's not done much mileage but the gearknob is worn it's the Mk2 facelift model so I want to replace the gearknob but it's a lift up reverse and I'm not sure where to find a knob or how to fit them as it's the first I've owned with that feature...kinda hard to get used to when all you've driven is normal Fords and Rovers (Sorry!!!)

Also what wheels will fit as it's only got steels and they look crap!

Again my sincere apologies if indeed I have placed this in the wrong section

the gearknob will simple screw off, there is many wheels that will fit. the 16" 5-spoke zetec wheels are popular and cheap. if you fit aftermarket alloys with low profiles you want at least 17" because 15's or 16's with low profiles look a bit gay on a big mondy. 18's look better on them, but really need a set of lowering springs to stop it looking like a range rover.

you need an offset of between ET35-45

I'm not to bothered about it looking sported up to be honest I just want some nice ford alloys as it's the Ghia spec and AFAIK they came with alloys

Gone are the days where I drive silly cars now I can't afford to run or insure a sported up car so I just want a mile muncher that's comfy and has alloys to make it look nice, as for gay looking Mondeo's...it's purple

I've got a leather ST24 gear knob you can have for a few quid. Also up in Skeggy in a few weeks too.

there is the 16" ghia multispokes (yours probably had them originally), the 16" 5-spokes look better IMO (more modern without being OTT).

or there is the 17" ST200 multispokes, they can be had for £200 a set these days and look pretty tasty for the money without being OTT or barry-ish.
