ok ive got a whirring / grinding noise comnig from the drivers wheel area. managed to get home from southampton, but thought something was gona snap at any moment.

when driving real slow to a stand still there is a real loud, creaking sound, under a lot of pressure you can hear as thoug something is gona crack and brake.

Jaked up front sides in turn., span the wheels, and they made no noise at all, but under load of car, its real bad grinding whirring noise?

wheel baring maybe??

any ways to test, try and pinpoint what it could be? cant drive the car again till its sorted.

push and pull the top of the wheel and if its a wheel bearing then you will feel a donk.

ok just jacked drivers side up, grabbed the wheel at 12 and 6 and there was no movement ,at 3 and 9 there was tiniest movement but probably jsut wheels turning slightly as i was nearly pulling it off the jack.

wheel baring seems to be fine then

 

Okay, next try while jacked up put it in gear then rotate the wheel one way then the other, feeling for movement in the CV joint.

 

is ther a stone stuck between disc and calliper
