Default knocking from front when steering -Escort

Getting a knocking from the front somewhere, not sure what it could be,

its over big bumps sometimes and steering sometimes, but also when driving say 30mph and give it a quick sharp turn to the right, i get the knocking noise. so when driving along if i keep doing quick yanks of the steering wheel to the right, i get the noise each time i turn the car.

Any ideas what thos could be? driving me mad. Did try jacking up the drivers side front and yanking on the droplink but it seemed pretty solid

any ideas much appreciated

sounds like your passenger side suspension coil is snapped

Could be coil or the bushes on the arm. If its a mk6 Escort that is a commen problem. Maybe your CV Joint but I doubt it.

The only real way to check the drop links is to unbolt one end, if the wheels are at different heights there will be tension on the drop links, so you'd be unlikely to feel/detect play.
Other things to check are the tca joint, and the wheel bearing, a dud/broken spring will not cuase a clonk but can cause the inside of the tyre to be wiped out.
