Hi.
Im having a few problems with my auto box. Its failing to change up through the gears as it should. If I put my foot down it will go from 1st to 2nd gear fine, but when it accelerates though 2nd it hits the limiter and still wont change up to 3rd. I have to lift my foot off the accelerator a bit then it will jump into 3rd gear. If I then floor it again it goes back into 2nd and back to the limiter. Overtaking is impossible. If when it goes into 3rd gear I keep my foot off the accelerator slightly it goes into 4th gear quickly before it should dropping the rev right down and making acceleration slow. Any ideas? By the way the vehical in question is a K reg Isuzu Trooper Bighorn 3.1 turbo diesel... Please help.

It could be a pressure problem, or a electrical problem, best bet is to try some wynns steering stop leak first in the box, this swells seals and has cured many a auto box for me for years, about £5 so worth it, give it 100 miles to fully work, then if still the same I'd just go to auto box place.
I don't know your particular box, but had recently/ish a shifter problem on a auto box in mondeo that would violently jump up and down gears, repair was £35 for a new part bonus!!, so might be lucky.
