Question Relays

Hi folks

I have just recently asked about probs with my roof on my cab and got a great response to which my problem was solved

I did notice that there was something else next to the relays for the roof. It looked a bit like a relay but looked more metal than plastic.

Does anyone know what this is for? Its just that I have never had reversing lights since I have owned the car (7 months now) and I was wondering if this had anything to do with it. I have had the electrics checked and there is live from the g/box end but still no lights at rear

If this is nothing to do with the rev lights, is there anything else that it could possibly be that isn't in the fuse box under the bonnet?

Thanks

That's a thermal cut out circuit breaker for the roof motor; - nothing to do with the reversing lights.

Have you checked the switch in the gearbox? I had to fit a new one on my cabby because the reversing lights stopped working.

Apparently th switch on the box was tested and was working fine, its just past the box and between the lights there is a problem. I am thinking that there is a wire possibly broken somewhere. I am hoping that's not the case and it could be something trivial. The bulbs are fine and work elsewhere

Likely to be a broken wire, or duff connection, either way easy to fix, worst case is run a new wire from g/box switch to the rear lights, or just probe along the wire for the reverse lights along sill etc till it goes dead, then wire around break.

I don't know specifically on your car, just remove the trim bit from the sill area inside the car and look for same colour wire, only normally 3-4 screws to remove so easy job obly take a few minutes.
I would guess it would be the nearside it runs but only as that's nearer ford may have other ideas so if not here take other side off.
