Default Engine Type

in doing a bit of fault finding I keep finding references to L1H or L1A or L1E and so on engine types for sensors and such.

How do I tell which one my little silver top zetec 1.6 90 is?

The silver plate under the hood just says L1 in the motor section but the section above that has an A in it. does that mean it's an L1A?

I'm pretty sure the LENK con, refers to LHD, as lenk means left, not sure what the A refers to, I would pop into a ford dealers, you may well find all the sensor is the same one for each engine type anyway.
