Default Power steering fluid

Fitting a new power steering rack and so not to void the warranty I have to flush out the old power steering fluid with new fluid. Never done this before so want to know if this will work without damaging anything. This is the method that the steering rack manufacturers have said to use.

1. place pipes into bucket and top up power steering reservoir with fluid.
2. Start engine. Pumps belt driven so it should start dispensing fluid into bucket.
3. Once clean fluid flows, switch off engine.

I will make sure that the fluid never runs low, so the pump runs dry. But is this method safe to do as I can't think of any other way of going about this.

Cheers

Sounds ok to me mate, pretty straight forward, do not let the pump run dry though as it will kill it
