Default cigerette lighter not working

Morning all
my cigerette lighter/power socket for some unknown reason has no power going to it,which means i am without the use of my satnav, and a trip to devon from northampton just doesnt appeal without it.Does anyone know what the fuse is for this, and is the fuse box in the engine bay the main central fuse box?
The car is a 2004 mondeo zetec 2.0tdci
also after haveing a fault code and replacing the part does the code need to be wiped,or can it be wiped just by disconecting the battery.

regards
nigel

Not 100% sure but think the codes clear after a set amount of cold starts after problem has been corrected.

Fuse will be in the passenger fuse box and has a fuse diagram on the back of the glovebox generally speaking, think it's fuse 68 should be 15A, there is even a tool provided in the box for removal. I would think once a faulty part is replaced it will clear the associated fault code on next boot of the ECU.

Don't think so all cars I have come across have a dedicated fuse protecting the cigarette lighter and a "Battery Control fuse" that protects the interior lights, clock etc.

ok,found the fuses behind the glove box, which brings me to my next question. How do i remove the glove box to gain access to the fuses it looks as if you unclip it at the sides then give it a gentle tug it should pull out, like most i have come across,or not, well mine dont wanna at least,so am i missing something?
thanx in advance

Theres a stay on the left hand side which pushes to the right so can be removed when glove box drops, you have to push both sides of glovebox in at the same time this will give enough clearance on the sides for the rubber stops and so glovebox drops down.

ok, i can get the glove box to drop down, ive released the damper strut but it still doesnt come down enough for any great amount of access,so how do i get it off the hinges?with any real force just seems they are gonna to break.

There is normally one stay on the left hand side which pushes aside and can then be removed. The glovebox has two rubber stops both sides if you squeeze each side simultaneously these blocks will clear the dash and the glove box will touch the floor.
