Default zetec carb and ignition question

anyone got a zetec on webers etc? and if so what did you do about emissions and ignition? have been given a set of 40's and seen cheap manifolds on ebay

With webers you can forget about meeting any emission standard. Especially when your car has a catalyst and a oxygen sensor. That won't work anymore.

yeah the idea was to simplify and ditch the ecu and all the wiring

As long as it is for use in motorsports only, good luck.
When it's for use on the normal roads, you will never pass the mot-test.

You probably have a wasted spark coil system? No distributor anymore?
How are you going to get a spark without sensors and a computer?

i dunno, thats why i was asking really. seen conversions running carbs with a black box to run the ingition, also with the head modified to take a dizzy

very cheap way of running the coil pack is to use the "esc" modual from an early mk3 fiesta its a little black box bolted to the fire wall. or you could use megajolt witch is a mapable ignition curve
