Default Escort 1.8D Van - Fuel tank not venting

Hi Guys,

I've only just got this van and it broke down on it's first long journey. I assumed it was the usual primer pump problem, but after much swapping/replacing of parts it appears the fuel tank is not leting air in so it cannot draw through enough fuel.

Can anyone tell me does this let air in through the fuel filler cap or is there another vent somewhere?

Cheers

John

the vent is a thin pipe that runs up the side of the filler neck it comes from the top of the tank it may have a funny canister thingy on the end fella look under the wheelarch with a torch hope this helps
