Hi all. I have just joined the forum. I have a problem with my ST TDCI Mondeo( i know most on here have something faster but i can't find help elsewhere!). When i start my car it is fine. But when i have been on a trip & then return to the car i wait for the glowplug light to go out & i start the car which starts OK but the ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT & the BATTERY LIGHT stay lit for a few seconds. I have wait for them to go out before i can get power to move off. I will probably have to take it to the garage but does anybody have any ideas so i know what to expect. Thanks.

 

How old would you say the battery is, as it could be that causing the problem, have you checked the voltage on it at all?

 

Hi rich 2302. I am not very well mechanically minded so how can i check the voltage?. I have not got any diagnostic gear. Everything that uses the battery seems to be OK. The Engine Light & Battery light only stay on when the engine is warm. They stay on for about 20 seconds then go off, the revs go up & i can move off. It is OK the first start on a cold frosty morning!.
