My esc cos has a new altenator and battery on it but the battery light remains dimly lit all the time and when I apply the brakes it glows strongly.It doesnt seem to charge the battery any ideas what wires could be wrong? Pressing the brake pedal also make the needle on the rev counter move up and down.Strange eh!

yeah, id go with that too. I once had the same problem that i thouhgt was the alternator but it actually turned out to be the plates in the fuse box that had corroded. This meant that one minute the car was fine, but the next it would turn wipers, indicators, lights, the lot on and flatten battery !!! Took me ages to find out what it was !
