Default pulling my hair out

someone please help,
i have a 95 nreg 1.8 16v ghia escort, since i bought it it;s had a intermitent running problem, when the engine is cold it runs fine but when it gets up to temperature it occasionally stutters, when it starts doing this it looses all power, more gas gives no increase in revs, and it's totally gutless at the bottom end till you turn the ignition off and start it again,i've been given loads of advice on the various sensors and things, so far it's had a NEW idle control valve, NEW coil pack NEW engine temp sensor, it's got good fuel pressure, all i'm wondering is if it's the ecu, as a few weeks ago i parked it up and came back to it the next day and nothing, it had a spark, the engine turned over i could smell fuel and there was fuel in the fuel rail, but it totally refused to fire, but after leaving it for a day in total disgust it fired up as if nothing had been wrong, but this stutter is getting me down, to the point i haven't decided if i'm going to turn it into a astra or a bbq
any help would be appreciated, if not for the car ,for my sanity

I'd suggest throttle position sensor!
