Default MK6 Escort lundging forward

Hi everyone just a quick question that i am sure one of you pro's will beable to help me, i am assuming that its just a sensor that has gone down. The symptoms are that when i'm letting off the throttle the car seems to lundge forward as oppose to just naturally slowing down, sometimes it does it sometimes it doesnt. It is more likely to do it from cold but today it was doing it on the motorway when it was well warmed up. The car is a 1996 escort si with 79000 miles on the clock. Any help on this would be great guys, if you need more info please let me know.

if the car is jumping when coming off the throttle i'd be more inclined to think engine mount. that would cause a jolt at that time. or is it more like a misfire etc?

its as though the car wants to carry on cruising as oppose to start slowing down as in continuing to accelerate

Second the sticky throttle cable, do the revs rise or do they just remain unchanged?

stick at about 1200 and when coming to a stop also remain at about 1200 for about 5 secs then drop to idle speed

It's also worth looking at the VSS as this may be telling ECU duff info which in turn is telling the ISCV to raise revs. You can unplug (For testing purposes) on some cars but on newer cars it is used as the sole idle control.

update: the last few weeks of driving i have been dealing with this problem and it dawned on me last night that when driving/cruising and i start to slow down the car only starts to jump about as it hits 2500/2000 rpm. It will drop from 4000 3000 no probs as soon as it hit the 2500/2000 mark its starts to jump about. Just to confirm it accelerates through the revs lovely no jumping about regardless of revs on when its running down do i get the jumping at 2500/2000 rpm. Anymore help or hoping this confirms the above mentioned would be great thanks again Graeme
