Engine dilemma's.
Right people. I hope you can help cos im not sleeping at night, and the other half is sick of me talking about engines and slowly sneeks off when i keep going on about them
I have a track built ford ka with a 1600 sport engine (about 105-110bhp) max 120bhp without spending stupid pennies on a crap engine.
So i am planning an engine conversion.
I already have a 2.1 ZVH with a spec pushing a good 260-280bhp.
This conversion is going to cost me around £1500 to finish and get running, with the gearbox in mind being my main concern for breaking. As you can imagine, it would be a quick little ka.
Im thinking of selling up and getting a 2.0 zetec blacktop and running usual N/A mods on omex management. (160bhp ish) good rev limit.
I can do this for not much more money then id get from selling the ZVH.
It will be easier on the gearbox, and still perform to hot hatch requirements. Could also change to itb's in future too using the money i would have to spend to finish the ZVH. 200bhp with itb's?
However, i can use my ZVH RS turbo 4 paddle clutch, sump and pick up pipe on the zetec, and the steel rods if i kept those.
I could even pick up a brandnew 2.0 zetec for £600, and start fresh.
What are your thoughts, bearing in mind its a 850kg ka with short gear ratios?

Iv bin debating engine swaps my self, what about an st150 lump, perfect starting point for same money on low miles! Ps I'm stil intrested in few bits off the sport engine. Or maybe even the zvh.
