Default Blue Smoke FRST

Just because its smoking on start up and when idling also when you let your foot off the gas,(generally all the time ) does this mean its the turbo as i dont want to fork out loads and it sttill smoke.... ive been told it could be the stem seals?

Any help/advice on this would be great thanks

sounds like stem seals as its smoking from a cold start

but also turbo oil seal as its smoking when you back off the throttle, my frst done the same, changed the turbo n the smoke stopped when backing off the throttle.

Stem seals are only a couple of £ and are easy to replace. I would be trying them first before replacing the turbo!

i would do the valve stem oil seals first, should only cost about £100 max, but if you have a t2 turbo it's usually that bought to many t2's, ive now learn't my lesson & fitted a stage2 t3, its reliable
