Default Can you check map sensors?

As in the title. Is there a way to check this sensor or is it a case of trying a new one and see.

Cheers

Graham.

HI,
Graham, quick resistance test without going in to volts checks etc,
pin 30 and 11, at ecu plug,300/600.ohms and pin 30/15, 3000/6000, kohms,
ok, one easy volts check, pin 30,+11-.ignition on 4.5 to 5.5volts at map sensor
plug ignition on, by the way when removing or replacing ecu plug make sure
ignition is off,
Dave,

Dave,
Thanks for your reply. I will check the measurements as said. The reason i'm also checking the map is because on overun i have been getting a slight kangaroo sensation. This has been happening for some time now. Possibly like other people have put it down to the 4x4 transmission. I will let you know how i get on.
Once again thanks for your valued input.

Cheers

Graham.

when at low speed in traffic....?

mine used to do that - until i got used to it - it when u accelerate and the force moves your foot back off the trottle - u over compensate and press too hard causing it to lurch then let off and so forth - keep it in 2nd when glugging about to try and reduce it.

davidreader5,
Have checked all measurements. All are ok and within said measurements.Thanks.
What happens if you disconnect lambda sensor while engine is running? The reason being is that i can see bare wires on the three that are attatched to the sensor. I have noticed that there is slight arcing from them.I have only noticed this now that i have removed heat sheild from turbo.Would this effect the running while the engine is idling? I did disconnect the sensor when i noticed it this evening and didn't here/or notice any difference in the running.

Dave Henshall,
I know what you are saying. It just makes you jerk about slightly and it get annoying sometimes.

Cheers

Graham.
