hi. well i sold the car about a year ago. but from memory, the plug for the intercooler sensor runs along the underside of the front slam panel. and when the intercooler is removed the plug can drop down and is easily forgotten. undo the intercooler and have a good look. my problem turned out to be due to wrong or blocked injectors.

had this problem on a corsa few years back i checked timming changed maf got fed up and put up with it not going faster than 70 and taking a long time to get there 
anyway on a 200 mlie drive home top speed dropped from 70 to 60 to 50 all the time foot to the floor was past caring if it went bang ten miles from home twe in the morning it did go bang not the engine but the middel box terned out it was blocked all power reterned
and ran grate even with the big split in the box .not saying thats whats up with yours but worth a look
