Hi guys im new to this site so first off hello

Now for my first question, ive just bought a year 2000 mondeo st200 however its only come with 1 key and its not a remote key booo so what i want to know as ive only got the 1 manual key is it possible to get a remote key and programme it to my car myself or do i have to pay really expensive dealer prices, ive heard a new remote key is about £160 ??

yeah u can get a remote key no probz but it will have to be coded by Ford
£160 seems steep tho......I'm a Ford mechanic at a main dealer and we don't charge that much

Ive not had a price from ford just from doing a brief search a lot of people seem to mention £160?? So its not something that i can do myself then i guess?? I was just trying to keep costs to a minimum if i could

 

would like to know this myself.. can get key with fob from ebay for about 10quid i think. how much to programe these???

Nope it would have to be through Ford......needs linked to computers to code in with PATs system
rough estimate would be £80-100 for key and labour

 

It's easy to get key cut etc.....just have to pay Ford for coding in mate
