Default Shit brakes on my 2wd cosworth

Right i have rebuilt all the brakes on my saph, they all work proppely just dont seem too have the power to slow you down quick enough.
The discs are black diamond grooved ones and im running EBC red stuff pads.

I would like better braking just dont wont to change my wheels which are escort cosworth 8x16.
Please anyone with ideas help my out i have seen some on Ebay just abit exspensive.

How many miles have the discs pads done ?
Did the pads have the break in coating on them a really rough surface like a ripply surface ?
They should feel extremly good do they need bleeding or is the pedal hard, with no free play, when you rebuilt your brakes do you mean new seals etc, as the pistons regularly seize on 2wd, my car had 6 out of 8 seized when I got it.

The redstuff has better co effecient friction wise at lower temps, so work better sooner, there's something seriously wrong, are they binding at all ?, if they were they could be overheating, the ebc pads with brake in coating can be a bit hairy, I usually take the brake anti rattle shim off the rear of the pad as well, did you need to apply any force to get them in ?, some aftermarket pistons can be a tad longer and so the new pads, new discs can cause a bit of binding, but you'd notice this as soon as pulling away.

You sound just like me, I must admit if doing say 80 plus(on a private road) they don't stop as quick as I'd like, think it's more down to the relatively small diametre disc considering the weight of the car, and the likely speeds, if I have to stamp on from speed my bum cheeks clench a bit!!
Time for a brake upgrade, I have me FRS brackets ready for me 2wd 4 pots, just got to get the discs, when I get me new wheels, but having trouble finding exactly what I want.
