Default what head gasket? cosworth

hey me again lol,when i had all my engine work done on my 200 block last year the block and the head was skimd.i put post up the other day and got feed back from tabetha and thanx.was just making sure tho b4 getting a gasket that im getting the right one.iv read that the pistons on standard engine sitt about 0.5m above block,but bcos my blocks been slightly skimd,will i need to get a thicker gasket to compensate? also read that there shld b 0.70m clearance between piston and head. will group a b ok? or shld i go thicker. if so then how thick?? thanx again tabetha,uv answerd every post iv put up

The YB 0611 will be fine, but you 100% MUST let it rest when fitting it, fail,to do this is prepare to fail.
I use ARP stud/nut kit, torque in stages to 40, then 80 then 120lbft, leave a least 4 hours then go back and retorque straight at 120lbft.

just a group a then? any particular make? i have not got stud and nut just standard head bolts. still b ok? i have never let it sit for 4 hour or so b4.will i do it this time? thanx again

A lot depends on what power you want to go to, if under 500, then group a by VICTOR REINZ will be fine, can get these from matt lewis, about Ł55.
You could use 6 long studs on a 200 block if you wanted, would need some machining for these to be put in, then 4 std stretch bolts on the outer end two holes each end of the head.
If using all stretch bolts then do as the book says, and do not retorque.

cool.cars only stage 3 so well under 500bhp. good enough 4 road. think il continue 2 use the standard bolts,as its not long been put 2gether. thanx 4 help...
