Have a look what this guy has done with his rear beam. i'm about to attempt it myself. sounds easy enough, seems worth it too.

Not even remotely needed on a car with xr2i weight, you'd be amazed just how little the rear brakes do and how hot they don't get even on track cars working all day, having way too much brake will not stop it any quicker, just spin it round better.

+1 looks good but need to sort out brake bias as they do lock up really really easy.

I would, as most maybe up to 90% is going to be on the front brakes, I use EBC yellowstuff pads, ace for the track ace on the road, loads and loads of feel.

Don't overbrake it, it will be shit to control, with it weighing so little std cossie 2wd will be fine 283mm, with yellows, or even xr4i/S2rst size at 260mm, just make sure wheels will clear, 14" for 260mm, 15" for 283mm, frs 324mm need 17", which will spoil the handling on a festa.
