hi iv just got a escort van 55 1.8d on y plate,
the thing is when have tryed to drive it it cuts out but will not start again wile still moving using the gears to bump star but will start fine with the key and will rev up if i dont put it in gear...........any one no wat this could be please???

 

I'd be looking for air getting in the system, or a blocked fuel filter.

try it with the cap off the fuel tank?? possibly a vacumn/venting prob!
