Default power steering

Hi all look at tidying up the engine bay and removing the old cooler ( runs in the wheel arch then comes back on it self!?) and put a 10row cooler or something in its place. But I keep getting told i cant do that as the pressure will be to high? I don't want to go on the rack just. just remove that pipe.

Surly if the pressure was to high the plastic bottle would pop or push the pipe clips off??

I have seen cars on here done so any help would be great.

There isn't any pressure in the return line. Fitting a replacement cooler as you propose will be fine.

As said will be fine, there's next to no prtessure in the return as it is not being restricted, it's free to return to the tank, the tank is also not under pressure, it just acts as a reservoir for the pump, which creates the pressure used on the live side of the rack.
If you can oil cooler would be better before the pump as it helps keep the pump cool as well then.
