Does any1 know what the symptoms are of a broken ECU? and also what would cause the fuel pump to keep priming? and a tapping noise from the injectors?

 

Broken ecu will usually result in lots of different symptoms dependant on what part is buggered, should prime only at certain times I think on the RS ?, priming too often is no problem though(won't stop it running), check for sparks, check for injector pulse, with either a noid light or a analogue metre, do not use a light bulb.

Fuel pump is signalled by CPS, "Tapping" you hear from injectors is the pulsing so this is the first thing I would be looking at. Does sound as if something more may be wrong with your ECU though.
