my saff is at a cosworth specialist.
running problems. the injector is filling up no.2 cyl.
there was a mention of bore wash. and has no compression.
can anyone shed anymore light on this matter.
cheers

bore wash is when excessive amounts of fuel enter the oil by getting down the sides of the piston, this fuel washes away the oils lubrication and can cause excessive wear on components like the rings bores crank journals and camshafts not good!
Bore wash happens if car is mapped incorrectly, you don't happen to run grey injectors by any chance do you as some tuners map these incorrectly? However this won't be your problem as injector number 2 is constantly open by sounds of it, I presume it was sudden as you would notice this. Check the earth wire from the injector to see if it's chaffed on where it goes (through the bulkhead for example) to the ecu. Loss of compression could be a gasket hopefully not the HG or worn valve seats.

no greys....
yea no.2 is open all the time. could be loom is crap...
mybe no compresson due to you injector open all the time..
other wise why keep working on it,

Injector will not affect greatly the compression, either the rings are leaking/broken or you have valve trouble, either way at least the head is coming off, loss of compression will stop it firing however if bad enough.
The myth about greys is just complete bollocks put bluntly, a excuse for either a crap ecu or a crap mapper, mnine runs greys at 0.97% CO idle, not even 1%!!, and seriously smooth with it, so it can be done, 137ppm as well, so immensley clean with it, considering 180,000+ miles on bottom end untouched.

what you need to do unplug the ecu scart and see if the constant earth goes, this would mean the ecu is faulty this happened to me!! in my case the fuel didnt compress and blew my head gasket...

It could be the injector, if it is jammed open, did it suddenly start doing it or start gradually, certainly hot going to hurt looking for chafed wire, or just unplug ecu and do continuity to earth test on the relevant wire.
