Default escort 7/8 turbo diesel problem

can any body tell me how many revs it would take to make a diesel turbo actuator move while the car is stationary.i rev it 3,4,5000 revs and it dont really move.theres no oil leaks and theres no play in the turbo blades etc.i used a bike pump to make the actuator work (which it did) so thats ok.if i take the pipe of the actuator there is some pressure coming from the compressor.im getting no were quick lol.thank's

when i got the car and put my foot down a little,it cut out with a lot of black smoke.got in home and found that the rubber bend from the filter to the air intake had caved in (air filter was very old).changed the filter and it was ok for about 2days.now its just really slow.the turbo is spinning but something isnt right.someone menioned a airmass sensor (i think that what he called it).i even put a new diesel filter on but no diffrents.when your driving it,it feels like something is holding it back.

exactley the same problem with me van, its the intake. i cut mine down half way and repalced it with a silicone elbow and stainless bend, its a hell of a lot better.

ill try and get pics.

failing that. used a compressor air line, take off the diesel cap and blow down both fuel lines and re-bleed. could be be crap in the tank/pipes.

let me know how you get on.
