Default Immobiliser Fault ???

Hi All

I am new on this forum and also never had a ford before

I have a Mondeo 2001 1.8 in petrol so is MK3

The car has been fine two days ago(driven for about 150 miles)
And today morning i cannot start the engine.

I check the light and is illuminating for 3 seconds and going off so seems like the IMO is working fine. Engine is turning but no chance to start it. New battery has been fitted as well but no results

What can be the cause??

Correct if the light has gone out that should mean the immobiliser is disengaged. If it was me I would do a simple check next seeing if you have spark and fuel being delivered. Does the fuel pump prime when ignition is switched on?

there is a spark but there is no fuel being delivered at all! Dry plugs.

I can't hear the pump either

Check the "Inertia switch" for the pump think it's in the drivers foot well on your car. This could have activated and cut the supply.

No, nothing like that it's designed to be accessiable, it should activate on impact but not always, so to cut the fuel supply for safety. I think it's around the drivers kick trim area on your car.

From memory on the kick trim there is a gap at the top it may be in there.

Failing that your handbook will tell you where it is.

The fuel pump should prime when ignition is switched on as signalled by the CPS, the fact it isn't is why it's not starting, have you checked power to the pump/tried a direct feed to pump as this will show whether pump is good?
