Cosworth 2wd Cam Seal Leak,.
Ever since I've owned my 3door I've had a little seep of oil from the exhaust cam seal.
Despite replacing the seal i still experienced a leak.
So today I've solved the reason why it leaked and thought i'd share my findings with people on here, as I think its a common occurance.
After taking the cam pulleys and cambelt off,
I then pulled out the Cam spacer leaving the seal in place.
And heres why it leaked
Theres two prominent wear ridges on the spacer and a dink which happens to be right where the seal lip would seal against it.
Luckily the spacers are only a tenner new from Burton Power.

As you say it's the mark that causes your leak, the seals will cope with the wear in the grooves so long as nice and even, some leaks are also from the join between cap and head but look at first glance to be the cma seals.
Best to get VITON seals, much much better.

I get mine from a place in Norwich, Norfolk called allseals, tel 01603 486851.
You need the seal dimensions, which is the number on the seal, which is 35-47-7.
If there are any problems just pm and I'll get some and post them to you.

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Hello.
Could anyone tell me, where should I put small o'rings shown on a pic on 2wd head? Or is it only for 4x4 application? I see on ebay many kits dedicated for 2wd, and there are these small o'rings. Thank you in advance for any answers. Need Help
