Default engine advice needed please.

What would i need to fit a 1.6 zetec dohc 16v into my mk4 cabrio currently with a 1.6 efi in it? would my gearbox go on it?

Cos its cheap, low mileage, will sound better than mine cos its fooked! what should i be lookin for then? not a mechanic but want to do it myself so the easier the betta

if you are going to the hassle of fitting a 1.6 16v zetec you may aswell fit the 2.0 16v. near the same work and better power plus even better results if you turbo it in the future.you can pick up one from a scrap yard cheap aswell. U know it makes sense.

And yes the gearbox will work with your flywheel.

well if you doing the zetec conversion why not got for the 1.8 out of a escort if you get the si version thats the 115 bhp one

need to do same sort of mods for this as a 1.6 zetec and it will have a little more power

or just do a rst conversion as these are easier to do it you can get one cheap enough
