I've got a mk6 escort who's alarm activates when you open the passenger door. I can't get the alarm to stop sounding and have tried the suggestions in the alarm manual of turning the key in the lock and holding it to deactivate the alarm.

Can anyone tell me where the alarm unit is and if there is an easy way of bypassing it or disabling it??

For now i've removed fuse 28 which has stopped the flashers and disconnected the horn to stop the noise.

thats all i did with mine, wouldnt shut up after car being sat for 13 months. the siren is on the bulkhead under bonnet just looks like a single tone metal horn.
