Default Mk4 Escort Heater Matrix

How much am i looking for a new one?

My current is suspect so i'd rather not put it back in. How much from motor factors am i expecting to pay?

Available from ford direct?

good luck?

im guessing you mean swapping it over? If so then it's easy peasy, as the car is in kit form at the moment, all boxes and labels lol.

2 mins to screw it into heater box, job done.

I've never done one on a mk4, but I do remember my mk4 had a 1 piece dash, and it looked as though it would all need to come out, BUT I didn't look into it much at all, so maybe a way around it ?

My haynes manual says you need to take bottom part of dash out, the gearstick surround bit.

4 bolts hold heater box under dash, but you need to remove two screws from engine bay side where the pipes come through bulkhead and remove that plate and 'gasket' type thing before you undo the bolts.

my car is stripped to shell and only thing left was heater box so very easy for me to get at everything.

you could do it in a couple hours, but i'd take passenger seat out to give you lots of room.

Ł28, very good price. just make sure its the right one as I got one from a factors listed for a ERST S2 and it was nothing like it, had to get one from ford in the end.

Wouldn't take dash out as can get them out ok, specially as I believe if I remember correctly you ahve to remove the steering colomn to remove the dash.

Sods law, I did an intrior strip for some welding and to paint the floor only for the matrix to pop a week after it was all fitted.

Hope it goes ok.

Easier to take the dash out. 20 minute job from start to finish that way.
