i was driving my escort 1.3 efi today and all of a sudden the revs went high with out me touching anything, i pulled over turned the car off, left it few secs and then turned it over again and the revs shot up stright away. This happened a few times, so i turned it off so i could get my tool box, started the car back up again and it work as its all ways done, nice idle, no noise.
the only thing that it cant be the oil because i did a oil change yesterday and flushed the rad out.
I cant for the life of me think of what it could have been.
Ive put WD-40 on every thing that ive seen just in case it was abit of crud on it.
Any help would be nice. Thanks for reading and taking your time to read this long post.

 

could have something to do with the idle control valve been faulty or throttle cable was stuck?

 

there aint to mutch oil in there is it if it is just drain abit out or a breather might be blocked

 

i will check that, i dont think i put too much oil in but i will check any ways, thanks

 

I have found out the promble with my car, its the idle control unit which crazyshad1 said, i got it from andrew page for £62
