Does it do it once car has warmed up as well?

If it only does it from cold then ISCV isnt working, although you do say it hunts so shows idle valve is functioning intermitiently, I would replace the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) if problem is only when engine is cold.

If still stalls when at running temp then your base idle needs seeing to.

Then theresa base idle issue but unless someone has tampered with it there is no reason why it would have changed. I would make sure you have no air leaks anywhere.

It's not your ISCV as you have said the car "Hunts" this shows the ISCV to be working and it would not stop the car from running when hot as it's not used unless a heavy electrical load etc is applied. Normally if this fails the car will be harder to start from cold.

Thanx for the replys guys i cleaned the breather pipes induction and cold air flow pipes and the butterfly on the throttle body, but really strange this one if you strat the car and put your foot on the throttle and leave it on for 30 secs just above 1000 rpm the just ease off it runs and idles fine (strange) but if you start it and rev it hard and let the revs drop really quick it wont idle or will idle up and down and cut out at junctions
so could resetting the ecu work?

i bought the car two days ago and the previous owner has fitted a fse power boost valve induction kit and exhaust so maby this is part of the problem???? any other advice would be greatful thanx lee
