I've just had a FRST crank recon'd for a rebuild and needed .25mm o/s regrind and bearings. After getting it back i notice what looked like a crack in one of the bores of the block, so managed to get hold of another block from a Mk3 Fiesta 1600sport, Now i've striped the block drilled the oil return etc, after fitting the new mains into the block i noticed some thing wrong with the way they sat. After looking at the original mains that came out of the 1.6s block they where stamped STD (standard), but also has 0.4mm O/S. Ford used to list oversize and undersize bearing, I now need different mains, 0.25mm O/S but with a 0.4mm undersize fitment, this is the 1st 1600 CVH block i've ever seen like this,does anyone know if these are avalible???

they must be availible, but i'd measure the thickness of the crank on the mains and measure the inner diameter of the bearing when bolted together, then you can find out the thickness of the shell that you need.

just doing my block and found my mains are 0.4 o/s from ford stamped ford /vandervell. anywhere I can get these....

i had to get mine that size from specialist engines, because the size was obsolete for my crank.

 

tried the number - spoke to Brian - but alas no joy - these are rarer than hens teeth so still on the look out.........

 

Hello, I`m rebuilding my engine and found that I have the rare +04mm housing. It`s a possibility to get these bearings?

Thank you very much for the responses but in the end I got an EFI engine in the scrapyard with standard bearings and will use this block.
