The nut at the top of my coilover at the rear has been tighten to much by the mechanic.
I have tried to untighten the nut but it is stuck, and know i can see that the spanner is begining to damage the top.
How do i remove the nut without putting more damage the top of the shock ????
The picture is from before i tried to remove the nut, so the top is looking ok here

Are you holding the other nut with a spanner to prevent the shock from turning?
Are you doing it with the wheels on the ground?
Are you using a spanner with a steep offset head, so that it engages on the nut properly?

Christian: thats a yes for all 3 questions... should the car be lifted ??? (I actually bought a set of spanners with steep offset head, thinking i could fix this problem easy
)
NUTS RuS: i havent got air tools, but talked to an old mechanic who said the same thing, apperently not an uncommon problem
I quess i better find someone with air tools an a deep socket...
